The project develops a material library through experimental processes combining banana waste in powder, sponge, and liquid forms with natural binders such as agar, kappa carrageenan, corn starch, sodium alginate, inulin, and white kaolin. The research addresses the growing need for alternative material systems by focusing on organic waste revalorization and circular production models. The context involvessustainable material design practices and designers seeking low-impact, locally accessible resources. The process includes systematic material experimentation, documentation, and classification based on physical and aesthetic properties. The results demonstrate that banana peel waste can generate diverse material outcomes, ranging from flexible films to rigid composites, offering potential applications in packaging, surfaces, and bio-based products. The project highlights the role of designers in redefining waste as a valuable input and suggests future exploration in scalability and material optimization.
